Welcome to Mind Body Peak Performance.

I’m your host Nick Urban, a performance health coach, athlete, biohacker, and a student of the world’s many peak minds.

In this episode I’ll tell my background story, and most importantly, what you’ll get out of the show.

I got my start through sports. I started eating clean and training hard for Football and later Rugby. I established healthy habits. By resisting temptation, I built discipline. I became resilient.

I dominated my sports, but somehow, at age 18, my body started to breakdown. I put up with allergies, intolerances, chronic fatigue, indigestion, sinusitis, extreme brain fog, and a slew of symptoms. Was this normal? I felt like crap. Then one day blood tests showed that I was on the brink of full-blown diabetes. So my learning journey began.

I dug into PubMed scientific research, read underground accounts of those challenging conventional wisdom, and questioned all my own beliefs.

I realized a fatal flaw of biohacking. Every “hack” opposing the body’s natural processes comes with unintended consequences. Sometimes, discovering those side effects can take decades. Instead, I began working with the body. I call this marrying of ancestral living and modern science bioharmony.

Bioharmony/biosynergy is the science of achieving your maximum potential by aligning with nature rather than fighting it.

I became a human guinea pig to find what really worked.

  • I overhauled my diet.
  • I started fasting.
  • I reduced my training volume.
  • I added specific supplements.
  • I experimented with brain-boosting nootropics.
  • I regularly exposed myself to extreme cold and heat.
  • I spent more time with my bare feet on the ground and skin exposed to the sun.
  • I focused on optimizing my mitochondria.
  • I forced boredom and introspection into my busy schedule.
  • I tracked all kinds of health biomarkers.

Months later, my follow-up doctors visit showed unbelievable improvements. My other symptoms had quietly faded, and I finally felt alive. Having tasted the potential of modern science, I was hooked.

Why stop now?

I gained the athletic edge, and my health morphed into performance. Which carried over to the classroom and my life as a whole. I exceeded what I thought possible of myself. Others noticed, and I began helping teammates design their own performance plans.

From doubling energy, to gaining mental clarity, guiding others towards their optimal life lights me up. Now, I’m excited to share the principles I’m learning from our guests on this show.
